IN 2004 AN OPEN DOOR
By Bishop Gary S. Brooks
Revelation 3:8
I know thy works: behold, I have set
before thee an open door, and no man
can shut it: for thou hast a little
strength, and hast kept my word, and
hast not denied my name.
Greetings friends! I trust that you had a blessed Holiday Season and are looking forward with eyes of faith and with great expectation in Christ for this new year.
A few days before the Christmas Holidays began, and while in prayer, the Lord breathed quietly into my heart this word, “In 2004 an Open Door”. Personally I am not really one that gets involved with slogans for each new year. Yet last year the Lord had revealed to me “In 2003 The Face of Destiny”. So if the Lord wants to give prophetic direction in slogans and rhymes, it's OK with me.
This word really is simple and yet full of power. It brings hope to life and ignites faith in our hearts. So what I have received from the Lord is this. He has set before us an open door. The purpose of the open door is the preaching of the gospel of Christ, the gospel of the Kingdom of God that Jesus Christ Himself preached. Yet the door is open that this gospel be preached and demonstrated without compromise or excuse.
Revelation 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a
door was opened in heaven: and
the first voice which I heard was
as it were of a trumpet talking
with me; which said, Come up hither,
and I will show thee things which must
be hereafter.
It’s an open door into heaven itself. It’s the way to the throne of God where we see the face of our destiny. We recognize the order of heaven. We see the church revealed in its glory. We behold the Lamb in fullness of authority and anointing. It is where we have full access to His ability and grace to bring forth a Royal Priesthood who shall reign on the earth.
It is the door into our destiny. Many of us have received promises from the Lord concerning our destiny in Christ and have put it off to some other time, or to some other place, or for some other generation. But now is the time, and the area where God has planted you is the place, and we are the generation called Christ and are the sons and daughters of God, whether we are young or old in age.
So man or woman of God, press through the open door of your destiny. Whatever the Lord has promised you pursue now in full assurance of faith, knowing that you are backed with the power of heaven to do so. The door is open and no man can shut it.
